Location: Diamond House Care Home, Bennett St, Downham Market PE38 9EJ
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Job Type: Part-time (24 hours per week)
Are you a practical and reliable individual with a knack for repairs and maintenance? Diamond House Care Home is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to help ensure our home remains a safe, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Your Role:
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and safety checks throughout the care home.
- Assist with painting, decorating, plumbing, and minor electrical work as needed.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are met and recorded properly.
- Conduct routine inspections and report any required repairs or hazards.
- Work closely with the Home Manager and external contractors when necessary.
- Maintain gardens and outdoor areas to keep the surroundings safe and pleasant.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ A hands-on individual with a practical, problem-solving approach.
✅ Previous maintenance or handyman experience is beneficial.
✅ Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics, and general repairs is an advantage.
✅ A good understanding of health and safety practices.
✅ Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
