Support Worker – Learning Disability
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Pay: £14.00 per hour plus £85 sleep-in payment
We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join a small, dedicated team supporting a gentleman with a learning disability in his own home and within the local community.
This is a rewarding one-to-one role where you'll have the opportunity to build a genuine working relationship and make a positive difference through consistent, person-centred support.
About the role
The gentleman you will be supporting enjoys relaxing at home, sensory-based activities, spending time in the garden and gentle riverside walks. He requires support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, communication, maintaining his home and accessing the community.
This is a one-to-one support role because of the level of support he requires in everyday life. It is not a behaviour management role and does not involve supporting behaviours that challenge.
You'll be part of a small, friendly team working together to provide high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice and wellbeing.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
· Kind, patient and reliable.
· Confident working independently.
· Committed to providing respectful, person-centred support.
· Able to build a positive, professional working relationship.
· Flexible and willing to work as part of a small team.
Experience supporting people with a learning disability is essential. This may have been gained through paid employment, volunteering or personal experience supporting an adult or young person with a learning disability.
Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
What we offer
· Permanent PAYE employment.
· £14.00 per hour plus £85 sleep-in payment.
· Enhanced hourly rate for Bank Holiday working.
· 5.6 weeks' paid annual leave (pro rata).
· Workplace pension.
· Two-week rolling rota.
· Weekday, weekend and sleep-in shifts available.
· We're happy to discuss hours with the right candidate.
· Additional hours available to cover annual leave and sickness.
· Full training and ongoing support.
· The opportunity to join a friendly, supportive and experienced team.
If you're an experienced Support Worker looking for a rewarding one-to-one role where you can build a genuine working relationship and make a positive difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
