Holiday Camp Assistant
About the Role
FIFTH Movement is looking for Holiday Camp Assistants to join our team during the school holidays, helping to deliver a safe, well-organised and enjoyable experience for children.
As a Holiday Camp Assistant, you'll work alongside the Camp Leader and wider team to deliver a varied programme of sports, games, creative activities and free play. Every day is different, and you'll play an important role in creating an environment where children can build confidence, make friends and enjoy being active.
What You'll Need
Essential
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Safeguarding certificate
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare, coaching or holiday camp environment
- Confidence leading groups of children and delivering activities
- A professional, reliable approach to work
- An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child welfare
- Experience delivering sports, games, arts and crafts or outdoor activities
- Relevant coaching or childcare qualifications
Desirable
- Paediatric or Emergency First Aid qualification
Responsibilities
- Supervise children throughout the day, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Deliver and support a range of sports, games, arts and crafts, and child-led activities.
- Encourage children to participate, build friendships and develop confidence during camp.
- Work closely with the Camp Leader and wider team to ensure each day runs smoothly.
- Follow camp procedures and maintain a positive, consistent approach to behaviour management in line with our Ready, Respectful, Safe expectations.
- Prepare activity areas and equipment ready for each session.
- Assist with snack times, registration and transitions throughout the day.
- Respond appropriately to accidents or incidents, completing all required documentation and following safeguarding procedures.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and organised camp environment throughout the day.
- Complete end-of-day tidy-up duties, ensuring the venue is left clean and ready for the next user.
- Report any concerns, incidents or safeguarding matters promptly to the Camp Leader or Holiday Programmes Manager.
Hours
- 8.45am – 3.15pm
- Monday to Friday during school holidays
Applicants should be available to work across the full holiday programme where possible.
