Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have great experience in hosting and can deliver exceptional guest service, ensure food and beverage orders are accurately taken and served, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and culinary arts to develop their skills within a vibrant setting. Previous restaurant experience is essential although additional training specific to us will be provided, this role is fast paced and busy so you will need to be confident and able to jump in quickly with minimum supervision. Experience with wine and cocktails would be a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle guest enquiries professionally, providing excellent guest services at all times
- Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including food safety protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills
- Strong organisational skills with effective time management abilities
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and bills
- Experience in guest services, with a focus on creating positive dining experiences
- Culinary or kitchen experience is a bonus but not mandatory
- A proactive attitude towards upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
