Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and support the overall smooth operation of the establishment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the hospitality sector, particularly those with a passion for food and service. Prior experience in restaurants, hotels, or culinary environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. All positions are paid, including internship opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- Help with dishwashing and waste disposal to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support serving staff as needed during service times
- Restock supplies and organise storage areas efficiently
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and evenings if necessary
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen environment
