Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of Nightingale Court Care Home.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager looking to progress their career within a supportive and growing organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and promoting a positive culture throughout the home.
In the absence of the Home Manager, the Deputy Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational management of the home and ensuring the continued delivery of outstanding care to all residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day operation of the care home.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate care staff to deliver exceptional person-centred care.
- Ensure residents receive safe, effective, and compassionate care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct audits, quality assurance checks, and action plans to continuously improve service delivery.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management of staff.
- Support the development and training of team members to promote a skilled and confident workforce.
- Oversee medication management and ensure safe administration practices are maintained.
- Review, monitor, and update care plans and risk assessments to ensure residents' needs are accurately reflected.
- Manage incidents, accidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns appropriately and professionally.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Assist with occupancy, resident admissions, and assessments where required.
- Promote a positive, caring, and inclusive culture throughout the home.
- Ensure health and safety, infection prevention, and environmental standards are consistently maintained.
- Participate in the on-call management rota where required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within a residential, dementia, or elderly care setting.
- Experience in a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, or similar leadership role.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential).
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards (desirable).
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Medication administration competency.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and support a team.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and person-centred care.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
- A caring, professional, and compassionate approach with a genuine passion for elderly care.

Experience
- Senior Care / Team Leader: 2 years (required)
