Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with commercial vehicles, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking to work overnight hours in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries safely and efficiently during night shifts, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness
- Load and secure cargo appropriately for delivery, ensuring safety during transit
- Deliver goods to designated locations accurately and on schedule, maintaining professional customer service standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including compliance with road safety laws and company policies
- Start times 16:30-18:30
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed or trunk deliveries
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Experience with delivery driving, including loading, securing, and unloading cargo
- Ability to work independently during night hours with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries and documentation
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
