We're looking to recruit an HGV Driver – Plant & Access Transport to join our transport team.
About the Role
This is far more than a standard HGV driving position.
You'll be responsible for the safe delivery, collection, loading and unloading of powered access and plant equipment across Aberdeen, the North East and, on occasion, other parts of Scotland.
You'll play an important customer-facing role, representing EMCO professionally while ensuring our equipment is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
The role also includes occasional operation of powered access and plant equipment, along with basic machine handovers to customers where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Class 2 HGV deliveries and collections
- Van and trailer deliveries
- Loading and unloading powered access and plant equipment
- Machine handovers to customers
- Operating equipment when required
- Daily vehicle checks and transport paperwork
- Maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assisting the wider team when required
Work may take you to a variety of locations including:
- Construction sites
- Oil & gas facilities
- Supply vessels and shipping
- Private properties
- Industrial premises
- Various locations across Scotland
Equipment You'll Transport
You'll work with a varied fleet including:
- Electric scissor lifts
- Diesel boom lifts and cherry pickers
- Tracked spider lifts
- Telehandlers
- Forklifts
- Other plant and industrial equipment
Loads range from compact indoor machines through to large 15, 20, 22 and 28 metre working height machines, including heavy-duty 15–17 tonne four-wheel-drive boom lifts.

Essential
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good communication skills
- Good understanding of load security and safe working practices
Advantageous
- Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Plant transport experience
- Powered access experience
- Forklift or telehandler experience
- Load restraint knowledge
- Experience operating plant or powered access equipment
Training & Development
We invest in our people and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
Training may include:
- IPAF operator training
- Loading and unloading training
- Telehandler certification
- Counterbalance forklift certification
- Additional machine operating qualifications where appropriate

- 45-hour guaranteed working week
- Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 45 hours
