Archive Project Assistant | 10767 | Fixed Term Contract until 20 March 2027 | 37 hours per week | £25,989 to £26,403 per annum (Scale D) | Norwich
The Norfolk Record Office is looking for someone to help deliver its exciting project Hall Marks: The Long Shadows of Norfolk’s Lost Country Houses . Using the Record Office’s extensive archival collections, the project will look at the impact of Norfolk’s lost estates, of which there are over a hundred. Using lost country houses and their estates as a starting point, the project will also support the public to research a home of any size, land or local area and to improve access to a key resource for such research. The project’s main funder is The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The successful candidate will help facilitate the project’s volunteer programmes with a focus on supporting volunteers, processing and checking data and helping with making historical sources more accessible.
You will also assist with digitisation of archive materials to support the creation of learning resources and blogs, as well as some digitisation of maps for inclusion on the Norfolk Historic Map Explorer website to improve public access. This will require basic image editing.
Alongside the project team, you will also support the delivery of project outreach, education and family events.
We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively and has strong communication and organisational skills. You should be comfortable working with spreadsheets and have an eye for detail and accuracy.
For more information about the position please email either Katy Swift, Hall Marks Project Manager, [email protected] or Jonathan Draper, Partnership & Development Manager, [email protected]
