Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Chef to oversee daytime operations within our busy culinary establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operation during daytime hours
- Work between locations based in Porthcawl, Bridgend, Whitchurch, Wellfield Road
- Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including training and motivating team members
- Oversee food production, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with company recipes and standards
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Implement health and safety procedures to create a safe working environment for all staff
- Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferencesRequirements
- Proven supervising experience within a fast-paced food service or hospitality environment
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Passion for culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail in food presentation and quality assurance
- Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential
