An exciting opportunity for an organised, motivated & driven Food Production Team Member to join the team at Ready Eats to assist in the production of our nursery kitchen meals to the highest standards of food safety, output, quality, hygiene and health & safety.
You will be working 40 hours per week (half hour break) Monday to Friday, 4am to 12.30pm
The rate of pay is £12.71 an hour
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and produce meals to agreed nursery menus, recipes, and portion sizes.
- Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard of quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Follow strict food hygiene, allergen, and food safety procedures at all times.
- Accurately label, pack, and prepare meals for delivery to nursery settings.
- Monitor and record cooking, cooling, and storage temperatures in line with HACCP procedures.
- Ensure allergen controls are followed carefully to prevent cross contamination.
- Assist with stock rotation, stock checks, and ingredient preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, preparation, and storage areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Work to production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time.
- Support waste reduction and portion control to help maintain food cost targets.
- Assist with deliveries, loading, or dispatch preparation when required.
- Comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding standards.
- Work effectively as part of the catering team to meet daily operational requirements.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced production environment.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement within the catering operation.
Requirements
- Ideally you will have working knowledge of food production along with an understanding of Food Hygiene and production standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great attention to detail
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
