Management Accountant (12-month maternity cover)

We are looking for a Management Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave at our busy Wigan office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong accounting skills who is able to oversee a small team and support the further development of the business.
What you'll be doing:
Management of key financials
- Production and control of relevant Management accounts
- Producing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliation
- Producing Currency forecast
- Producing monthly sales forecast
- Processing VAT returns
- Preparing monthly intercompany recharges
- Dealing with stock issues and stock take reconciliation
- Initial credit limit approvals low level
- Approving credit notes
- Working with the Financial Accountant and Finance Manager on the timely completion of audits
- Assisting with budgets
- Accounts staff training
- Assisting stock takes
- Daily supervision of accounts staff
Other responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of Accounts Assistants
- Monitor weekly despatches and cost reports
- Systemically load sales volumes for invoicing
- Assist with AP/AR duties as required
- Be aware of and comply with all relevant aspects of the company environmental policy
- Comply with all requirements of the policy regarding the correct disposal of office waste
- Carefully consider any possible environmental implications of financial decision-making

- The ability to communicate confidently at all levels, internally and externally
- Qualifications: Minimum AAT Level 3

Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
