Senior Family Law Paralegal / Family Law Caseworker
MSD Solicitors is looking for an experienced Senior Family Law Paralegal / Family Law Caseworker to join our family law team.
This role is suitable for someone with strong practical experience in family law who can support solicitors and fee earners with active case progression, client communication, document preparation, court bundles, and general file management.
The successful candidate must be organised, confident, detail-focused, and able to work in a busy legal environment under proper supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting solicitors and fee earners with family law files
- Assisting with divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements, and domestic abuse matters
- Preparing draft letters, emails, court forms, statements, chronologies, and schedules under supervision
- Preparing and organising financial disclosure
- Assisting with Form E and financial remedy documentation
- Preparing court bundles and hearing packs
- Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, experts, and third parties
- Taking detailed attendance notes and file notes
- Managing deadlines, directions, and client follow-ups
- Updating clients professionally and sensitively
- Keeping files organised, compliant, and up to date
- Escalating urgent issues, risks, complaints, or safeguarding concerns
The Ideal Candidate
You should have:
- Previous experience in a family law department
- Strong understanding of family law procedure
- Experience with divorce, children matters, and financial remedy work
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Confidence dealing with clients professionally
- Ability to work under supervision
- Good diary management and organisational skills
- Experience preparing court bundles
- Good IT and case management skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience with the HMCTS divorce portal
- Experience with Form E and financial disclosure
- Experience preparing children act bundles
- Experience with non-molestation and occupation order files
- Legal Aid experience
- LPC, SQE, CILEX, law degree, or equivalent legal training
