We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual for this blended role, to:
(1) Transport fresh fruit and vegetables from our warehouse to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, while maintaining the quality of our produce.
(2) Supervise the return of vehicles to our depot and ensure the correct and full application of pre agreed processes.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering fresh, healthy products and will prioritise customer satisfaction, safety, and adherence to delivery schedules.
They will be computer literate and have previous, demonstrable, supervisory experience in the FMCG sector,
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Transport: Safely load, transport, and deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to customers, restaurants, or other businesses.
- Timely Deliveries: Ensure deliveries are completed according to the schedule, providing excellent customer service at every location.
- Product Quality: Handle produce with care to avoid damage and ensure freshness throughout the delivery process.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the delivery vehicle (e.g., tire pressure, fuel, oil levels), and report any issues or needed repairs promptly.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns about their orders.
- Inventory Management: Ensure the correct orders are loaded and delivered, check orders for accuracy, and manage any discrepancies as needed. Document and manage the return of both stock and assets.
- Returns bay supervision: Supervise and liaise with the driving team, ensure the correct application of transport processes for returning vehicles.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure the proper handling and transport of perishable goods.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience in delivery driving, particularly with perishable goods, is preferred but not required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes and work in various weather conditions.
- Punctuality & Reliability: Consistently punctual and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
- Customer-Focused: Friendly, courteous, and customer-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
- Basic Literacy and Numeracy: Ability to read and follow delivery instructions and manage basic record-keeping.
- Basic Computer Literacy: Ability to complete and send basic forms and reports.
- Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with the local area and surrounding regions to optimise delivery routes.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in order fulfilment and delivery.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £274.56 per week
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
