We are looking for a caring, confident and resilient Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of our children’s home and lead a dedicated team of Residential Support Workers.
Our young people may have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences and significant challenges in their lives. You will play an important role in creating a safe, stable and nurturing environment where they can build trust, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home.
- Lead, support and motivate the staff team to provide high-quality care.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
- Support staff to manage challenging behaviour using a trauma-informed and consistent approach.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans are followed.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of recording, safeguarding and care practice.
- Support staff with supervision, training and professional development.
- Work closely with social workers, families and other professionals.
- Ensure the home remains safe, clean and welcoming.
- Participate in the staff rota, including weekends, sleep-ins and waking nights where required.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, confident, organised and emotionally resilient, with the ability to lead a team while maintaining a child-centred approach.
You should be able to remain calm under pressure, manage challenging situations effectively and support staff to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Experience working within residential childcare, knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice is desirable.
NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent is desirable. Relevant experience supervising a team is essential.
An Enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references will be required.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
