Job description
The purpose of the role is to handle the whole prescription life-cycle for the entire caseload within a mental health and addictions private practice. As an office admin, you are mainly responsible for making sure printers and other devices are working properly, printing prescriptions for the prescriber, and greeting patients. The role is fast paced and requires a lot of teamwork, focus and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
● Prescription Management:
- Create, issue and print prescriptions on a daily basis. This is an essential component of the job which requires high attention to detail and focus. There is very little margin for errors.
- Ensure pharmacies accept private prescriptions and have medication in stock.
- Ensure the posted prescriptions arrive on time.
- Change/adapt prescriptions when required and update all systems accordingly.
- Record patient contact by updating the patient files in our system, making entries each time contact is established.
- Filing prescriptions in correct folders
● Office Management:
- Greeting patients upon arrival, leading patients to consulting room (if needed)
- Taking payments correctly, recording payments
- Printing prescriptions
Other ad-hoc tasks:
- Ensure patients are booked in for reviews.
- Ensure they provide additional tests (if applicable).
- Liaise with clients via email and phone regarding any queries concerning their medication (side effects, dosage, etc), informing prescriber if required.
Essential criteria:
● *Outstanding attention to detail and focus*. The job requires a lot of attention paid to dates and prescription digit numbers for FP10s
● Excellent Excel skills A MUST combined with fast working pace where required
● Experience in the private sector is a must
● Excellent manners/customer service, approachable and helpful attitude is a must
● Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the issues facing substance misusers and mental health patients
● *Dedication* towards your job, and a caring attitude towards the premises and patients.
● Pro-activeness to solve problems on your own in cases where a printer is not working, etc.
