Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Garden Centre Deputy Manager to join our team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our centre, combining horticultural expertise with management responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the overall running of the centre, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. Multilingual abilities and strong leadership skills are highly desirable to cater to our diverse customer base. Responsibilities
- Assisting the Manager with the day to day running of multiple departments.
- Supervising and training staff.
- Providing assistance to customers.
- Ensuring high standards of plant care and merchandising and maintenance.
- Monitoring sales, budgets, and inventory.
Experience
- Previous experience within retail or garden centre environments preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills in multiple languages (bilingual/multilingual preferred).
- Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in merchandising, sales management, and customer service excellence.
- Administrative experience including record keeping, stock management, and basic budgeting.
- Knowledge of horticulture is preferred; practical gardening experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with retail management systems and point-of-sale operations.
- Ability to demonstrate effective phone etiquette and organisational skills under pressure.

Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
