Falcon Timber is part of the Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) group who supply sustainable timber products across the UK and Ireland. Falcon Timber is our national distribution arm for our multi-site manufacturing operation, allowing us to offer a truly one stop solution for our diverse range of customers.
We currently have an opening for a safety focused and commercially aware Operations Manager to join our well-established site in Avonmouth BS10 7SB. You will lead a team of focused and hard working colleagues to ensure the success of this busy site.
Working hours - on site - 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday
What are we looking for in an Operations Manager?
Responsible for managing the day to day running of the site, responsibilities include.
o Responsible for all personnel on site & visitors.
o Ensure adherence to delivering the group H&S safe systems of working.
o Drive continuous improvement of the H&S culture.
o Involvement in HR processes including investigations & disciplinaries
o Site security and maintenance.
· Working times will be managed locally and between the working hours 0600 to1800.
· Deliver safe, efficient and excellent standard of day-to-day operational requirements through transport and handling.
· Measurement of role through KPI’s including H&S and Compliance audits; OTIF; Stock Check accuracy.
o Manage staff productivity.
o Managing and conducting, daily, weekly stock checks with key involvement in annual stock checks.
o Deliver a successful picking/loading operation.
o Manage warehouse stock holding in conjunction with procurement.
o Ensure accuracy for Multi Product/Part orders and checking they are safe & ready for despatch.
o Transport management and planning.
o Ensure accuracy of Supplier Deliveries – identifying shortages, damages or discrepancies.
o Efficient & timely customer collections
o Gain good technical knowledge of our system process for warehouse stock movements
o Ensure all warehouse plant and equipment is safe and legal, reporting any faults or wear & tear immediately
Knowledge and Experience – what we are looking for:
· Experience in a management position within transport or logistics
· Excellent relationship building skills.
· A strong understanding of Health and Safety compliance
