Job Overview
To provide a high-quality caretaking, cleaning and grounds-maintenance service for residents living on the estate.
The postholder will help ensure that communal areas, estate grounds, facilities and equipment are clean, safe, secure and well maintained. The role also involves identifying and reporting repairs, supporting contractors working on the estate and maintaining positive working relationships with residents and colleagues.
The duties listed below are not exhaustive. The postholder may be required to undertake other reasonable duties that support the effective and safe operation of the estate.
Duties
- Clean communal areas, entrances, staircases and other shared spaces.
- Sweep, litter-pick and maintain estate pathways, roads and grounds.
- Carry out seasonal duties such as leaf clearing and gritting.
- Cut grass and maintain shrubs, hedges and flowerbeds.
- Identify and report repairs, damage and other estate issues.
- Carry out minor maintenance tasks where appropriate.
- Help maintain communal lighting, including changing bulbs where required.
- Lock and unlock designated estate gates and provide contractor access.
- Assist authorised contractors working on the estate.
- Safeguard estate keys, tools and equipment.
- Report significant incidents and concerns to the Estate Manager.
- Build positive and respectful working relationships with residents.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures.

- Comfortable communicating with residents, contractors and colleagues.
- Able to identify and report repairs and other estate issues.
- Able to use a mobile phone for work communication and reporting.
- Willing to undertake relevant training.
Previous experience in caretaking, estate services, cleaning, grounds maintenance or a similar role is required.
Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, social housing or resident-managed housing would be an advantage.

Pay: £26,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
