Overview
We are seeking a Chef to join our team on part-time hours, with options for more when other team members are on holiday. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, a background in kitchen operations, and the ability to both be part of and lead a team. This role offers the opportunity to utilise your creativity in food whilst also achieving a work/life balance. The Chef will be responsible for aiding and overseeing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and supporting the team in achieving high standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient team management and smooth operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality in all menu items
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
- Train new team members and provide ongoing support to develop their culinary skills
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety legislation
- Collaborate with management on menu development, special events, and customer feedback
Qualifications
- Proven kitchen experience.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Leadership qualities with a focus on teamwork, communication, and customer service excellence
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
