Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lifting Supervisor to oversee lifting operations on construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating lifting activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and managing a team of workers. This role requires strong communication skills, construction experience, and the ability to operate vehicles as needed. The Lifting Supervisor plays a vital part in maintaining efficient workflow while prioritising safety standards across all lifting operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all lifting activities on-site, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and project specifications.
- Plan and organise lifting schedules in collaboration with project managers and site teams.
- Conduct risk assessments prior to lifting operations and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Oversee the operation of lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, and other machinery, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Manage a team of workers involved in lifting tasks, providing guidance and support as required.
- Ensure all personnel involved in lifting activities are adequately trained and certified.
- Maintain detailed records of all lifting operations, inspections, and safety checks.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate logistics and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of lifting procedures and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in speaking and understanding English to ensure clear instructions are conveyed.
- Valid driving licence to facilitate transportation of equipment or personnel when necessary.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
- Attention to detail to ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times.
Pay: £24.00-£25.00 per hour
