About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our Night team at Newgate Lodge Care Home. If you have a passion for caring and want to make a real difference in the lives of our residents, we’d love to hear from you!
Shift Pattern:
Working 20:00pm – 08:00am.
Additional shifts available to cover annual leave and sickness.
4-week rolling shift pattern, 36 hours per week.
- Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
- Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
- Week 3: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Week 4: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents during night hours, ensuring dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
- Assist residents with toileting, repositioning, continence care, and mobility as required
- Conduct regular night-time checks to ensure residents’ safety and wellbeing
- Respond promptly and calmly to call bells, alarms, and emergency situations
- Monitor residents’ physical and emotional condition and accurately report any changes to Team Leader staff
- Maintain accurate electronic care records throughout the night shift
- Support residents who may be anxious, distressed, or experiencing disturbed sleep
- Carry out light housekeeping duties and ensure the care environment remains clean, safe, and comfortable
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies at all times
- Work effectively as part of the night team and hand over relevant information to the day staff
