Role Overview
As a Vehicle Security Installer at Saxtons, you'll be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining specialist vehicle security systems across our luxury and prestige vehicles. You'll work with a range of security equipment, ensuring every installation is completed safely and to the highest possible standard. If you have a passion for vehicles, technical work and security systems, this role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure vehicle security systems including trackers and other security devices
- Carry out electrical wiring, connections and modifications required for security installations
- Diagnose and resolve faults with vehicle security and electrical systems
- Remove and refit vehicle trim and interior components safely and professionally when required
- Ensure all wiring and security components are installed securely, neatly and discreetly
- Test all security systems thoroughly following installation to ensure they are fully operational
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to support installation and fault diagnosis
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and any faults identified
- Ensure all security installations are completed in accordance with Company standards and manufacturer instructions
- Keep up to date with new vehicle security technology and installation techniques
- Ensure tools and specialist installation equipment are maintained and used correctly
- Deliver all work to a high standard, minimising repeat repairs and ensuring customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in vehicle security installation, auto electrics or a similar technical role
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems, wiring and circuitry
- Experience installing aftermarket vehicle security systems, alarms, immobilisers or trackers
- Ability to accurately diagnose electrical and security system faults
- Strong practical and technical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using hand tools, diagnostic equipment and specialist installation equipment
- Ability to remove and refit vehicle trim without causing damage
- Good understanding of safe working practices when working with vehicle electrical systems
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy workshop environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- A full UK driving licence is required
- An automotive electrical or vehicle security qualification would be desired
