Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner/Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery. This role involves working on diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality craftsmanship and ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials according to project specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Fabricate custom joinery components for residential or commercial projects.
- Assist with roofing tasks, including installing trusses or sheathing as required.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to support construction activities.
- Conduct masonry work where necessary, including laying bricks or blocks.
- Support plumbing and electrical installations by coordinating with specialists when needed.
- Carry out construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, or related construction trades.
- Skilled in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing, electrical systems, and construction painting is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if required.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are advantageous but not essential.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
