Brother Marcus is a founder-led,award-winning Eastern Med all-day dining restaurant group with 8 London restaurants,a new standalone bar concept,and plans to grow to 12+ sites in the next 2–3 years. As we enter this next phase of growth,strong financial control,commercial insight and scalable processes are critical.
About the Role
We are now looking to hire a Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations,sharpen our reporting and controls,and act as a genuine commercial partner to our restaurants and support office teams.
The Finance Manager will run the finance engine of the business — month-end,payroll,payments and compliance — while supporting strategic decision-making as we scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable in a fast-paced,multi-site environment with evolving requirements.
The role reports into the Head of Finance and works closely with site General Managers,the support office teams,and our external advisors. For the right candidate there is a clear development pathway towards a Head of Finance role as the business grows.
Responsibilities

Our outsourced accountants and payroll providers carry out the day-to-day processing of our management accounts,payroll and supplier payments.

This role owns the oversight,review and control of that work — making sure it is accurate,on time and fit for decision-making:rather than doing the heavy processing.

Financial Reporting & Control:Oversee the month-end close and review the monthly management accounts prepared by our outsourced accountants,coordinating timelines and inputs to keep the process on track

Review and challenge their first-draft accounts,and deliver clear month-end analysis and commentary to support commercial decision-making

Review and maintain oversight of the balance sheet reconciliations,supplier statements and internal schedules prepared by the outsourced team

Ensure data integrity across our finance systems (Xledger) and that underlying records are accurate and complete

Support year-end and audit processes,liaising with external accountants and advisors

Operational Finance:Oversee the weekly payment run — reviewing the supplier payments prepared by our outsourced accountants and preparing them for Head of Finance authorisation Oversee the day-to-day payroll,pension and bonus process run by our outsourced provider,ensuring each pay run,pension contribution and bonus calculation is accurate,complete and on time,ready for Head of Finance authorisation

Review and resolve payroll queries,maintaining accurate records and related reporting (e.g. holiday,accruals,headcount)

Maintain accurate COGS,GP,margin and labour tracking in collaboration with operations and kitchen teams

Maintain weekly cash tracking and feed accurate inputs into the rolling cashflow forecast,and support the weekly trading packs

Compliance & Statutory Requirements- Oversee VAT returns and statutory accounts prepared by our outsourced providers,ensuring they are accurate and delivered on time

Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory,HMRC and regulatory obligations

Implement and maintain robust controls around expenses,purchasing,invoicing and payments

Commercial & Cross-Functional Support:Act as the finance business partner to site General Managers and support office teams (Ops,People,Marketing,F&B)

Help GMs own their site P&L,labour and COGS,and turn the numbers into clear actions that drive performance and cost control

Assist the Head of Finance with budgeting,reforecasting and scenario planning,contributing site-level inputs and analysis

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability as we grow Embrace AI and automation to streamline reporting,reduce manual effort and free up time for higher-value analysis

Support ad-hoc projects across new site openings,operations and central functions as required

Skills & Experience Required

Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent),or qualified by experience

Proven experience producing high-quality management accounts and month-end analysis,ideally in hospitality,retail,multi-site or another fast-growth environment

Strong technical accounting knowledge and a financial-control mindset,with robust attention to detail

Commercially minded and hands-on,comfortable operating in a fast-paced business without heavy structure

Confident communicator who can explain financial information clearly to non-finance and operational teams

Comfortable managing outsourced providers and juggling multiple priorities and deadlines

Strong Excel skills; experience with a cloud finance system (Xledger preferred; Xero / NetSuite or similar also relevant)
