Howard Engineers Ltd is a respected, family-run civil engineering contractor based in Leeds, specialising in deep drainage, roads & sewers, and infrastructure works for major housing developers across Yorkshire. The quality of our work on site is matched by the quality of the information we provide to clients, engineers, water authorities, and local councils. Accurate CCTV survey reporting is a vital part of this.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a highly organised and computer-literate CCTV Drainage Surveyor to take ownership of this important function within our business.
Full training can be provided for the right candidate with a good attitude and willingness to learn.
The Role
- Carry out professional CCTV drainage surveys on live construction sites
- Produce accurate, well-presented reports
- Manage and organise survey records across multiple sites
- Keep track of what has been surveyed, what is outstanding, and what requires remedial works
- Provide clear information that engineers and clients rely on for S104/S38 handovers and defect resolution
You will effectively be responsible for running and organising the CCTV survey side of the company. This is not simply a camera operator role.
Responsibilities
- Carry out CCTV drainage surveys in accordance with industry standards (MSCC5)
- Survey new and existing drainage systems on construction sites
- Identify, code, and record defects correctly
- Produce professional, accurate survey reports using CCTV software
- Correctly store, label, and manage survey footage, data, and reports
- Maintain clear records of:
- Surveys completed
- Surveys required
- Defects identified and requiring remedial works
- Assist engineers and site teams with clear, reliable information
- Maintain CCTV equipment and survey kit
- Work safely and professionally on active sites
- Liaise with site managers, engineers, and office staff
Skills & Experience
- Previous CCTV drainage survey experience preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Knowledge of MSCC5 defect coding desirable
- IT and computer literate
- Highly organised and methodical in record keeping
- Ability to manage workload independently across multiple sites
- Professional, reliable, and takes pride in their work
- Full UK driving licence essential
