1. JOB TITLE: Analyst / Accounting
2. MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB
Specific: (Including Prescribed Responsibilities)
- Performing the role of Analyst in Accounting Team
- Assisting the Accounting Manager in performing their duties and responsibilities
General
- Adhering to FCA’s Conduct Rules (both Individual and Senior Manager’s Conduct Rules)
- Adhering to FCA’s Principles of Business & PRA’s Fundamental Rules
- Adhering to all systems, controls & Regulatory guidelines
- Maintain compliance with all policies and procedures of the Bank
3. KEY TASKS
- Preparation of Branch’s daily BS/PL reports and any other supporting information
- Supporting to produce the external reports to BOE and FCA
- Monthly BSPL and administrative reconciliations
- Production of the calculation of quarterly VAT and Corp Tax instalment
- To archive file including updating spreadsheet
- Answer and investigate any accounting related queries within the Branch
- Contact and communicate with the relevant external agencies
- Input Hedge and test Hedge Effectiveness quarterly
- Report Hedge sold PL to related team
- Supporting of monthly RMC documents
- Counting monthly Deals by products for Compliance team
- Perform daily hedge accounting processes
- Cover for the other team members for daily operations when out of office.
- Any other necessary function of the department time to time.
4. REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial data clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy (zero-tolerance for errors in financial reporting).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict month-end/year-end deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on complex Excel functions.
- Strong professional ethics and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
5. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- As this is an entry-level role, prior exposure to financial services is not mandatory, but a strong academic background in accounting or finance is required.
- Experience in data entry, financial reporting, or administrative support roles is desirable.
- Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial statement preparation is highly desirable.
6. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related degree preferred.
- Pursuing or intending to pursue a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA).
- Basic knowledge of UK statutory reporting and tax obligations.
- Expertise in MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas) and familiarity with accounting software/ERP systems.
