Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team for the night shift. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality care within a supportive care home environment, specialising in older adult care. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transport needs. This position is fully paid and integral to ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of our residents during overnight hours.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of HCAs, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and personalised care in accordance with care plans
- Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily activities during night hours
- Monitor residents' health status, recognising any changes and reporting them promptly to senior management or healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including incident reports and medication records
- Support residents' emotional wellbeing through effective communication and companionship
- Ensure the safety and security of residents throughout the shift by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed care plans, maintaining strict compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a senior care or care home setting, with supervising or leadership responsibilities preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, medication management, and relevant health & safety procedures
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Driving licence is advantageous for travel requirements related to the role
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively

Pay: From £13.50 per hour
