Peripatetic Music Teacher – Singing
The Wrekin Old Hall Trust is looking to recruit a talented and qualified singing teacher to join our team of Visiting Music Teachers, from September 2026.
This is a self-employed position and the amount of work available will be dependent upon the number of pupils wishing to take singing lessons, although we envisage approximately 1 days’ worth of work teaching our senior students. Demand for teaching may fluctuate throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of teaching both Musical Theatre and Pop or Rock Singing to pupils aged 11 to 18. You should be a Competent singer with the ability to support students at varying stages of development, up to and above grade 8. Candidates selected for interview will be required to demonstrate this.

- Deliver high-quality singing lessons tailored to the individual needs of students across different age groups and skill levels.
- Develop customised lesson plans that incorporate vocal technique, musicality, and performance skills.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and enjoyment of music.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate special educational needs and behavioural considerations.
- Maintain organised records of lesson plans, attendance, and student achievements.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and upcoming lessons.
- Ensure all lessons are conducted in accordance with health and safety guidelines, promoting a safe learning environment.
