Retail Supervisor — Jorum Studio, Stockbridge, Edinburgh
Jorum Studio, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced and inspiring Retail Supervisor to lead our team in delivering expert fragrance advice and memorable in-store experiences. This role combines hands-on operational oversight with team leadership, ensuring our Stockbridge store maintains the highest standards of service, presentation, and performance.
The ideal candidate is passionate about fragrance and perfumery, has proven experience in luxury or premium retail, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will play a key role in guiding, supporting, and motivating the team while creating an inviting and distinctive experience for every client who visits Jorum Studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate the retail team to deliver exceptional customer service and sales performance.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and client-focused culture within the Stockbridge store.
- Deliver expert fragrance consultations and encourage the team to develop their product and perfumery knowledge.
- Support the development and implementation of effective sales strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock management, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure the store consistently meets Jorum Studio’s standards for presentation, visual merchandising, cleanliness, and product display.
- Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and support ongoing training and development.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and contribute to a welcoming and memorable in-store experience.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve store performance, client experience, and day-to-day operations.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Jorum Studio, representing the brand’s creative, independent, and distinctive approach to perfumery.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in luxury, premium, fragrance, beauty, or lifestyle retail, ideally in a supervisory or management position.
- A genuine passion for fragrance, perfumery, and the wider world of scent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a team.
- Exceptional client service skills and the ability to build meaningful, long-term customer relationships.
- A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach to retail operations.
- Experience with staff scheduling, performance monitoring, and day-to-day store management.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly around stock, store standards, and visual presentation.
- The confidence and enthusiasm to work in a creative, fast-moving, and independently minded brand.
