About the role
The Manx Care, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) are seeking a brand-new Consultant Psychiatrist.
CAMHS services on the Isle of Man are currently undergoing an exciting and innovative transformation. Recent initiatives include the launch of the TALK service, The THRIVE Model and a recent strategic waiting list project. This new position reflects the increased need for psychiatrist support across this genre, specifically following the recent implementation of a innovative new single point of access service within CAMHS.
The clinical work for this position will be split between providing clinical leadership to the CAMHS multidisciplinary team and direct patient care. As per the sample job plan in the attached job description, SPA time will be provided. This service has a well-developed MDT & allocations process, and the successful candidate will play an important leadership role in this alongside senior non-medical colleagues. The post holder will frequently provide consultant level clinical supervision to the other doctors in the team which includes one Associate Specialist and two Specialty Doctors.
It is a critical time for CAMHS services on the island and the post holder will have an exciting opportunity to influence, clinically lead and shape CAMHS services strategically, working with other colleagues to deliver excellence for children on the island.
