David James Kitchens is a family-run, Bedfordshire-based manufacturer of bespoke, made-to-measure kitchens and luxury fitted furniture. Combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced CNC technology, we design and build high-end interiors tailored to each client.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Technical Production Designer to bridge the gap between design and manufacture.
The Role
This is a key position within our business, responsible for turning approved kitchen and furniture designs into fully engineered, production-ready outputs.
You will work closely with our production team to ensure every project is delivered with precision, efficiency, and the highest level of craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings and CNC-ready files
- Use Microvellum (or similar CAD/CAM software) to produce production models
- Carry out site surveys and take accurate measurements, ensuring designs are fully aligned with on-site conditions
- Create accurate cut lists, machining details, and assembly drawings
- Liaise with designers and production to ensure seamless project delivery
- Develop and maintain component libraries, standards, and internal systems
- Identify and resolve technical challenges before production
- Ensure all designs meet bespoke, high-end quality standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, or CAD/CAM software
- Background in producing accurate technical drawings / CAD models
- Understanding of CNC machinery and manufacturing processes would be beneficial
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other technical drawing software
- Ability to contribute to process improvements and system developmentWhat We Offer

Pay: £25,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
