Touchline Fabrications Ltd is a market-leading structural steelwork contractor with a reputation for quality, reliability and customer service built over more than 40 years.
Established in Preston in 1982, we design, manufacture and install structural and secondary steelwork projects throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth and succession planning, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Structural Steel Estimator to join our management team.

The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
- Taking off material quantities from engineering and architectural drawings.
- Preparing accurate estimates and tender submissions.
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Producing cost plans and project budgets.
- Liaising with clients throughout the tender process.
- Negotiating and following tenders through to contract award.
- Working closely with detailing, purchasing and production departments.
- Contributing to the continued development of estimating systems and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within the structural steel industry.
- Experience within estimating, detailing or a related commercial role.
- A sound understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction.
- The ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- The ambition and commitment to progress within the company.

Location
This is a full-time office-based role based at our Preston headquarters.
Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Preston and be able to attend the office daily. Due to the collaborative nature of the position, remote working is not available.
