We are looking for a enthusiastic, caring team playing nurse to join our team at Truro Vets for Pets!
Truro Vets for Pets is a purpose built, bright and airy and air conditioned which is very comforting in summer! We have three consulting rooms, Two theatres, a separate dog/cat/isolation ward. We have lots of high spec equipment, including Multi parameter monitoring equipment, patient warming systems, endoscopy, laparoscopy and plenty more.
We offer a comprehensive range of services including some surgical bias days (TPLO, MPL, BOAS, lap spays) to routine days and nurses rotate areas daily to ensure variety and a fair share.
As a nurse at our practice here are some of opportunities you will have, provide nursing clinics including post op checks, assisting vaccines, bandage changes etc. Monitoring anaesthetics for a variety of procedures, assisting with endoscopy, radiography and in-patient care. Full training is provided for anyone that has never done those or feel a bit rusty. We also feel passionate about CPD and support members of staff wanting to better their skills and knowledge.
We believe our main strength is our team, the people you will work with, chat to, join forces with to accomplish tasks , assist duties, help each other and share daily conversations over clinical tasks but also non clinical. For those that wish to we also socialise outside of work and try to arrange activities as a team such as escape rooms!
One of our lovely nurses who moved to this area to start a new life here in Cornwall explains that the V4P Truro team has helped her immensely both in work and out of to feel settled, supported and feel completely at home in a short space of time. We are very proud of this.
We would love to find an RVN who is kind, supportive and both a team player but equally happy working on task list with an eye for prioritising.
We are a committed training practice and therefore it would be great top find an RVN with a clinical coach qualification, or that might be keen to do so to assist our dedicated and enthusiastic students who make it easy to mentor but this is not essential.
For a healthy work/life balance we believe flexibility is key, we can offer differing shift length including 8 or 10 hours days and happy to consider options for hours worked over a week to make your work and life commitments work best for you.
