Accounts & Office Assistant
Broadway Events is an award-winning independent events organiser, delivering market-leading exhibitions and conferences across the education and healthcare sectors. We create events where communities connect, innovate and thrive, bringing together thousands of professionals each year to learn, network and do business.
We're looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused individual who enjoys bringing order, accuracy and efficiency to everything they do.
This is a newly created role, reflecting our continued growth and giving you the opportunity to help shape the position, make a real impact and grow your career with the business. Working closely with our Finance Manager, you'll play an important part in keeping the business running smoothly while supporting our finance function and wider office.
What You'll Be Doing:
Finance:
- Process exhibitor bookings and raise sales invoices accurately.
- Process supplier invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
- Credit control - building positive relationships with customers whilst chasing outstanding invoices.
- Reconcile booking sheets and financial records within Xero.
- Prepare supplier payment runs for approval.
- Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end finance tasks.
- Prepare sales commission calculations for review by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc finance projects and reporting.
Office Administration:
- Maintain employee annual leave and absence records.
- Maintain software licence and renewal records.
- Answer finance and office-related enquiries from colleagues and customers.
- Provide general administration support across the business.
- Help improve finance and office processes as the business continues to grow.
- Provide administration support at our exhibitions and conferences when required.
About You:
You'll enjoy working with numbers, be highly organised and take real pride in getting the details right. You'll be someone who enjoys finding better ways of working, takes ownership of your responsibilities and is always willing to support the wider team.
We're far more interested in your attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn than whether you've used every system we work with.
You should have:
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A logical and organised approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
- Experience using Xero would be an advantage but isn't essential.
- AAT Level 2 or 3 (desirable but not essential).
