Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Housekeeping Assistant to join our professional team. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of guest rooms and public areas within our hotel, ensuring an exceptional standard of hygiene and comfort for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a friendly demeanour, and a commitment to providing outstanding hospitality service. Previous hotel experience or janitorial background is advantageous. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Clean and sanitise guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to hotel standards
- Change bed linens, towels, and replenish amenities as required
- Ensure all surfaces are dust-free and floors are vacuumed or mopped thoroughly
- Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning
- Restock cleaning supplies and guest amenities in designated areas
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff
- Assist with laundry duties when necessary, including sorting, washing, and folding linen
- Maintain a professional appearance and friendly attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues
Skills
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial work is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are met consistently
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent time management skills to complete assigned duties within scheduled timeframes
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, courteous manner with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning procedures is desirable
