Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service.
This role requires a valid driver’s licence, access to a suitable vehicle (LWB van), and experience in commercial driving with an emphasis on safety, organisation, and communication skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own LWB (Long Wheelbase) van, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Complete 40–50 deliveries per day across assigned routes
- Deliver goods to customers’ premises promptly and courteously
- Assist with loading and unloading items, including heavy lifting when required
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues
- Conduct routine vehicle checks before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness
- Follow company health and safety protocols at all times
- Report any vehicle maintenance or repair issues promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within logistics, transport, or warehouse environments
- Valid UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Own LWB (Long Wheelbase) van in good condition
- Valid insurance documents, including:
- Hire & Reward (Motor Certificate)
- Goods in Transit insurance
- Public Liability insurance
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software
