Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing all aspects of cost estimation, cost control, and financial reporting for construction projects. Your expertise will ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Duties
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for various construction projects based on detailed drawings and specifications.
- Monitor project expenditures continuously, ensuring alignment with approved budgets through diligent cost control measures.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate costs, review tenders, and secure competitive pricing.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, variations, and contractual changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts to inform decision-making and stakeholder updates.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards related to cost management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Excellent skills in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent estimating tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex data accurately.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members.
- A relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field is preferred.
