Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential? Do you have the patience, creativity and commitment needed to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs?
Excell Supply is looking for enthusiastic Primary SEND TA Specialists to work across our network of schools, providing high-quality support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Support pupils with their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and independence.
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to deliver effective support strategies.
- Help implement individual education and support plans.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence and engagement.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and provide a safe, nurturing environment.
- Contribute to an inclusive classroom where every child is valued and encouraged to succeed.
We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience working with children with SEND within a primary school or similar setting.
- A good understanding of SEND and inclusive education.
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare or SEND would be desirable.
