Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our Bakery & Pastry Shop team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of bakery items and pastries according to recipes and quality standards
- Support the food preparation process, ensuring ingredients are measured, prepared, and stored correctly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Help with the organisation of ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
- Assist with serving customers when required, providing friendly and efficient service
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with additional tasks as needed
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are adhered to within the kitchen environment
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic understanding of meal preparation and food handling techniques
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers
- Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively within a team
- Experience in culinary arts or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory
