IT Technician – 2nd Line
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focused 2nd Line Engineer to join our growing team. This is an office based role working from our Bolton office, with the possibility of hybrid working in the future, subject to business requirements and performance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our clients' Microsoft 365 environments, providing technical assistance via telephone, email and remote support tools. A strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies is essential, including Microsoft 365 administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Intune and Entra ID.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a 2nd Line Helpdesk or MSP support role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, internet connectivity troubleshooting and hardware diagnostics.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
In addition to helpdesk duties, the role will involve:
- Building, configuring and deploying PCs and laptops.
- Installing and configuring software and operating systems.
- Supporting Microsoft Intune and device management deployments.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware faults.
- Malware, virus and security remediation.
- Assisting with Microsoft 365 migrations, onboarding projects and infrastructure deployments.
The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast paced Managed Service Provider environment, taking ownership of support issues through to resolution.
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 5:30pm. Initial working hours will be 9:00am to 5:30pm.
