Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Fitter to join our team, initially on a self employed basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various technical trades, including plumbing, tiling, and carpentry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision, technical expertise, and a proactive approach. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of structures and equipment across multiple sites. Candidates must be committed to safety standards and quality workmanship And possess their own tools. Company expensed van will be supplied.
Responsibilities
- Interpret technical schematics, drawings, and specifications to execute fitting tasks accurately
- Install, assemble, and repair structural components using hand tools and power tools
- Conduct welding, plumbing, electrical work, plastering, masonry, and construction painting as required
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications to meet project specifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
- Assist in the maintenance of site safety protocols and hazard identification
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored after use
Experience
- Proven experience in construction-related trades such as plumbing, carpentry, tiling
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Experience working with construction materials including plastering compounds and masonry products
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction environments
- Previous experience in plumbing , carpentry, tiling essential
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship and safety compliance
