Structural Steel Loader / Yard Operative
Motherwell £13.00 per hour – Dayshift £17.32 per hour – Nightshift 44 hours per week Dayshift and nightshift positions available
We’re looking for Structural Steel Loaders / Yard Operatives to join our team in Motherwell.
This is a hands-on role working within a busy structural steel environment, loading and preparing steelwork for transport.
If you’re reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working around structural steel, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Loading structural steel onto trailers for delivery.
- Preparing steelwork for loading and transport.
- Using appropriate lifting and handling equipment.
- Ensuring loads are safely and correctly positioned.
- Working closely with the fabrication and loading teams.
- Keeping the yard and loading areas clean and organised.
- Following loading procedures and company health & safety rules.
- Working to production and dispatch deadlines.
- Working effectively as part of a team or independently.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a structural steel, fabrication or similar yard environment is desirable.
- Experience loading steelwork or other heavy materials is an advantage.
- Good understanding of safe working practices.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy yard environment.
- Able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
- Willingness to work days or nights depending on the position.
