ALPINE RACING LIMITED
At Alpine Formula One Team, every component matters. From front wings to floor assemblies, the quality and precision of our composite parts directly influence performance on track.
We're looking for an experienced Deputy Cell Lead to join our Laminating Cell on the night shift on an initial 18 month fixed term contract, helping to deliver world-class composite components in one of the fastest-paced manufacturing environments in motorsport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled laminating technician who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, or for an existing team leader looking to further develop their people and production management skills within Formula One.
The Role
Working alongside the Cell Lead, you will play a key role in driving the daily output, quality and performance of the Laminating Cell. You'll act as the link between technicians and leadership, ensuring production targets are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and teamwork.
As a technical leader within the cell, you'll support and mentor technicians, coordinate workloads, resolve production challenges and help create an environment where the team can consistently deliver race-ready parts to demanding deadlines.
No two shifts are the same in Formula One. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Cell Lead in the day-to-day running of the Laminating Cell.
- Coordinate workloads and priorities to ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are met.
- Act as the primary communication link between technicians and Cell Lead, ensuring clear direction and effective shift handovers.
- Lead by example, promoting high standards of craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail.
- Support, mentor and develop composite technicians within the team.
- Monitor production progress and proactively address issues affecting quality, efficiency or delivery.
- Conduct regular quality checks and ensure components are manufactured to engineering specifications.
- Manage and communicate any non-conformances in line with departmental procedures.
- Ensure effective organisation of work areas, materials and components throughout the shift.
- Champion health, safety and housekeeping standards within the cell.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities, helping to enhance production performance and efficiency.
- Act as deputy for the Cell Lead when required.
About You
You will have a strong background in composite manufacturing, ideally with significant experience in laminating high-performance composite components. You are passionate about quality, thrive under pressure and enjoy supporting others to achieve their best.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience within a composite laminating environment.
- A strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing methods and quality requirements.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming production challenges.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting colleagues within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production management systems, including Dynamics 365.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality-first manufacturing.
- A flexible, resilient and positive approach in a high-performance environment.
Why Alpine?
At Alpine Formula One Team, you'll be part of a passionate group of people pushing the boundaries of engineering performance every day. Working within our Composites department, you'll see first-hand how your contribution helps turn innovative designs into race-winning components.
If you're ready to combine your composite manufacturing expertise with leadership responsibility in one of the world's most exciting engineering environments, we'd love to hear from you.
