Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Home to School Transport Manager to oversee and coordinate the safe, efficient, and timely transportation services for students. This role requires strong management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle logistics within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising transport operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. Duties
- Manage daily operations of the home to school transport service, ensuring punctuality and safety standards are met
- Coordinate routes and schedules using logistics software and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Supervise drivers and support staff, providing leadership and guidance to ensure high levels of performance
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Liaise with schools, parents, and local authorities to address concerns and optimise service delivery
- Monitor operational budgets and optimise resource allocation within the supply chain framework
- Handle customer service inquiries professionally, resolving issues promptly and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, incidents, and vehicle maintenance logs
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in transportation or logistics sectors
- Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence suitable for operating company vehicles
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems related to logistics management
- Good knowledge of supply chain management principles and transport logistics optimisation
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams of drivers or support staff
- Strong customer service orientation with problem-solving capabilities
- Computer literacy essential for maintaining records and reporting activities effectively

Pay: £28,808.06-£40,000.00 per year
