An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Clinical Lead Psychologist within our Camden Neurology and Stroke Service (CNSS). The team provides specialist rehabilitation; community neurology rehabilitation, progressive and stroke early supported discharge pathways. The team supports and provides therapy input for people with a wide range of neurological condition and has strong links with local acute trusts including UCLH (NHNN) and RFH. This post would suit a specialist neuropsychologist and is looking for a leadership opportunity.
The team includes Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants. Team members work in an inter-disciplinary way to provide client centred, goal focused therapy to patients in the community.

The postholder will be supported to develop their career and flourish as a valued member of the psychology staff group. There are also a number of support systems within the Trust including staff peer networks.
The postholder will take a lead clinician role, providing management and clinical supervision to Band 7 and 8a psychologists working in the service. The role will be on site, although hybrid models of working could be explored.
The postholder will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy in the context of a multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation team. The post holder will offer advice and consultation on service users’ psychological care.
Clinical responsibilities include provision of highly specialised psychological and neuropsychological assessments and interventions for service users and specialist consultation for rehabilitation staff. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and be responsible for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the multidisciplinary teams across the above settings.
Leadership responsibilities will be a key component of this post. The post holder will lead on engaging service users to support the development of services offered within the above settings.
The postholder will contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
The postholder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the areas served by the team/service.
The post holder will work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical and Client Care
To develop, co-ordinate and ensure the systematic provision of a highly specialist psychology service to CNSS for adults with an acquired brain injury or neurological condition, many of whom will be experiencing cognitive, emotional and/or behavioural change.
To provide highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for clients in CNSS presenting with a range of neurological conditions.
To assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans.
To undertake responsibilities as a member of the multi-professional CNSS.
Responsibilities for team or service clinical functioning
To take a lead in ensuring a psychologically informed framework for the CNSS.
To provide expertise and specialist neuropsychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, diagnosis and treatment of clients.
Policy and service development
To participate, as a senior clinician with the other CNSS Leads, in the development of a high quality, responsive and accessible CNSS service, including its financial and governance frameworks.
To participate in and implement service development projects, as agreed with clinical/professional lead, Service Manager and other relevant Leads.
To participate in the ongoing implementation of new initiatives (e.g. national guidelines) and strategy across relevant services.
