A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Logistics Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as Supply Chain Manager.
In this role you will lead end-to-end supply planning, inventory management, purchasing and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production, accurate stock visibility, and efficient coordination across suppliers, production, and customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Create and maintain a rolling 52-week schedule with the management team balancing demand, capacity, stock build profiles, hygiene windows and changeovers.
- Validate inbound deliveries and supplier commitments to de-risk production downtime.
- Build and refine planning tools, workflows and processes over time.
- Maintain MRP database.
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
- Purchase raw materials, packaging, finished goods and merchandise within lead-times.
- Confirm supplier delivery dates and resolve variances, shortages or quality issues.
- Track supplier performance and highlight risks early.
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate contracts when required.
- Any other activity/task as and when requested by the Directors.
Inventory & Materials Management
- Own on-site inventory across raw materials, packaging, finished goods and merchandise.
- Conduct cycle counts and stock takes with high accuracy; investigate variances.
- Optimise rotation and utilisation to minimise waste and margin erosion.
- Report on inventory ageing, stock value and profile, at-risk stock and valuation.
Logistics & Customer Coordination
- Plan inbound deliveries, empty keg returns and CHEP pallet movements.
- Direct line management of logistics function, oversee relationship with contract logistics partners/3PL
- Coordinate with external parties (customers, logistics partners) to balance production requirements and timelines.
- Maintain records for reconciliation, audit and cost control.
Reporting & Analytics
- Produce management reports including service level, plan attainment, wastage, supplier performance, inventory valuation and stock at risk.
- Provide insight-based recommendations for cost, service and waste improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Scale
- Develop supply chain SOPs as the business grows.
- Support systems improvements (planning tools, purchasing processes, stock visibility).
- Take on ad-hoc operational tasks necessary to support scale and reliability.
Authority & Decision Rights
- Recommends and places purchase orders within agreed approval thresholds
- Owns production schedule in coordination with management
- Leads supplier communication & delivery confirmation
- Owns inventory accuracy, rotation, and reporting
- Advises Directors on supply risks, cost impacts, and operational constraints
Working Environment
- Fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment with variable production demand
- Hands-on role with visibility from raw materials to finished product and customer dispatch
- Processes and systems are still maturing — role suits someone who enjoys building structure, not just operating it
- Cross-functional coordination critical (production, finance, sales, suppliers, logistics)

Experience
- Experience in production planning, materials management, or supply chain operations in FMCG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or similar
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with significant seasonal demand
- Warehouse and forklift experience
Skills
- Strong understanding of supplier lead-times, inventory optimisation and stock rotation
- Confident working with numbers, data, spreadsheets and basic planning tools
- Comfortable in a hands-on operational environment, not purely desk-based
- Strong communication with suppliers, logistics partners and internal stakeholders
- Able to manage ambiguity and scale processes as the business grows
Nice to have
- Experience with CHEP / keg loops / returnable assets
- Familiarity with waste reduction and cost control levers in manufacturing
- Exposure to forecasting or demand planning
- ERP/WMS experience (NetSuite, SAP B1, DEAR, Katana, Unleashed, etc.)
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean/5S advantageous)
Qualifications
- Forklift licence (Desirable)
- CIPS Level 4 or above (Desirable)
