Material Preparation & Sash Line Technician
Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

About the Role
As a Material Preparation & Sash Line Technician, you will be part of the production team manufacturing our high-quality timber windows and doors. This is a multi-skilled role that involves working across both the Material Preparation and Sash Line departments.
In Material Preparation, you will operate a range of woodworking machinery to prepare timber for machining. In the Sash Line department, you may be involved in pressing sashes, fitting glazing bars, and carrying out finishing work prior to coating.
This role combines machine operation, practical assembly work, quality control, and physical activity. Success in the position requires a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently to production targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Preparation
- Operate cross-cut, ripping, and planing machines to produce PAR (Planed All Round) timber components to specification.
- Ensure machinery is set correctly and materials are processed accurately to required dimensions.
- Monitor material quality and report any defects or issues.
Sash Line Operations
- Accurately fit glazing bars to timber window sashes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Press, assemble, and finish timber sashes to required quality standards.
- Ensure glazing bars are correctly aligned, secured, and finished to meet visual and dimensional requirements.
- Use machine and hand tools, jigs, and fixtures safely and effectively.
Quality & Productivity
- Carry out repetitive production tasks while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and focus.
- Inspect completed work to ensure required tolerances and finish standards are achieved.
- Identify and report defects, damage, or non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Work efficiently to meet production targets without compromising quality.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all health and safety procedures, safe systems of work, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Use equipment and machinery responsibly and safely at all times.
General Duties
- Support other production and sash line operations as required.
- Undertake other reasonable duties to support the efficient operation of the Production Department.
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- Additional hours may be required from time to time to meet business demands.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bracknell RG12 1NA: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
