Job Vacancy Kitchen Assistant
Yew Tree Nursing Home is a well established Nursing home which aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance. All staff will preserve and maintain dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring environment and in so doing will be sensitive to the residents ever changing needs. Candidates:
Excellent communication skills
Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and the home
To prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the chef and promptly in accordance with agreed meal times.
To monitor stock control and to inform the catering manager of any discrepancies. To ensure proper stock rotation of foodstuffs to minimize wastage, and to dispose of promptly any foodstuff found to be past "sell-by" dates for any reason, informing the catering manager of any discrepancies.
To prepare special diet meals as needed, and as directed by the chef.
To ensure timely and efficient cleaning of all dishes and cooking utensils.
To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas at all times, in accordance with the appropriate Food Hygiene Regulations and infection control within the nursing home.
To implement safe working procedures and practices in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
Be able to organise menu’s for activities within the home to meet the needs of residents
Flexible working availability
Be able to provide two references and a checkable work history.
Access to a vehicle is required due to the location of the home and lack of public transport to the village.
Shift pattern: 8m to 6pm Monday to Sunday as per rota 3 shifts per week
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.71 per hour
