Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate individual with Freelance Outdoor / Bushcraft Instructor experience to lead engaging outdoor skills sessions in one of our partner schools to start in the new school term. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their outdoor competencies, foster a respect for nature, and promote safety in outdoor environments.
Duties
- Deliver practical outdoor skills training, including fire lighting, shelter building, navigation, and foraging.
- Use our dedicated award scheme booklets but be able to adapt to different student levels
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to relevant health and safety standards.
- Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to maximise participant understanding and engagement.
- Supervise participants during outdoor activities, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
- Maintain equipment and ensure all tools and materials are in good condition for use.
What we are looking for
You don’t need to be an expert, but you do need to be:
- Positive, enthusiastic, and engaging
- Experienced working with children (paid or voluntary)
- Confident leading groups
- A natural storyteller or motivator
- Proven experience in outdoor survival skills, bushcraft, or related outdoor education roles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct diverse groups effectively.
- First aid certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing group safety.
- Passionate about outdoor education with a genuine enthusiasm for sharing knowledge of nature and survival skills.

Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
